Helping Humanity Series: 1

Healing History

Introduction to the course

The background

This series offers skills for helping to evolve human consciousness by coming together with others on the inner planes and sharing your gifts for the benefit of all of humanity. In using these skills you are also assisting yourself, for all the help you offer others you also offer to yourself. Some of the skills, like those contained in this course, focus on healing. Others sow seeds and establish new ways of cooperating with one another that will develop over time.

Introduction from Sananda

In these inner journeys you have an opportunity to work with the planetary hierarchy. These beautiful beings of light are delighted to be able to share with you some of the joy they experience in bringing the light of compassion forward in the heart of humanity. There is a readiness in this age for change, a change in the understanding of your nature as human beings. You are preparing to be birthed into a new experience of what it is to be human. This is simultaneously a fulfilment of the Divine Plan for humanity and created by you as you go along. For it is part of the gift of this new way of being that you recognise with greater clarity that you are in some sense your own creator.

A valuable and necessary preparation for this birth is the healing of your own past as a species. That past is richer and more varied than you may currently appreciate. But what is evident to all of humanity is the suffering through which you have endured and which many still experience.

There has been an unfortunate belief held by many that to destroy something or someone makes an end of it. This is far from true. Nothing in the universe is ever destroyed. But everything changes, and your love and your light brings change to even the darkest places and the greatest pain. The skills we are teaching here offer you one way of taking light and love into the suffering of human history. It may feel that one person is not enough to make a difference. But you do. Your presence on Earth is not by chance; you came with a purpose, and if you are drawn to use these skills, then part of your purpose is to bring healing and hope, to enlarge the scope of what is possible for humanity and to be a source of light for others.

When you work with the Master of Compassion, letting the Master’s light enrich your own as it flows through your heart centre, allow yourself to be guided by your own joy. Let joy lead you; your soul will help. To heal suffering you do not need to suffer yourself, for that would only add to the suffering you seek to heal. Be glad that you can help, for you truly do. Knowing you help and make a difference helps your heart to open. It helps you to feel joy, and your joy is a measure of your effectiveness. We, your guides and teachers, thank you for your willingness to help. What might seem a little to you may be a great deal to others.

Introduction from Christopher

At the heart of this course is the opportunity to connect with another person whose life was in the past from your point of view here in the present. Though you are separated in time from one another you can meet on the inner planes and come together to share love and light and to facilitate a process of healing. Together you help to offer the light of compassion to those involved in the situation this friend witnessed.

A path by which this possibility initially came into my awareness was reading the account of an army officer in one of the wars of the Twentieth Century. In it he wrote of standing at the corner of a wood early one summer morning overlooking a river that his army hoped to cross. The day before the artillery unit he commanded had, with many others, been bombarding the enemy lines. If they could silence the enemy guns, then the infantry would be able to cross the river in some safety. As he stood there he heard guns on the far side of the valley opening fire and he knew that their effort had failed. Below him the infantry went into action regardless, his own brother amongst them, and in that moment he recognised that his brother was very likely to be killed. As I read I found myself with him at the corner of the wood. For a few moments it was as if my consciousness merged with his. I felt, though not at full force, the emotions that flooded through him, the realisation of his brother’s peril and the foreknowledge of his death.

But I experienced more as well. He showed me in these few moments how an open heart is a doorway through which the love of that individual being and of many others too may flow to offer healing. This soldier had a big heart. During this war the men under his command regarded him as lucky; they would stand close to him in the belief that they would be safe, and indeed he survived the war without injury. Later in his life he went on to bring much joy into many lives. He had unique gifts and I am sure that my knowledge of and admiration for the work he did helped to make the connection I experienced. But what Sananda went on to show me was that in all times and all places, wherever there is a human presence, there will be a heart through which healing may flow.

We live in an age in which humanity has experienced great suffering. In the last century millions of died through violence, hunger and disease. Such suffering does not leave the world when those who have suffered die. Suffering stays until it is healed. We may find that its presence is so familiar that we do not recognise it; it is part of the background to our lives, even if we are fortunate enough not to experience it directly. This course is a contribution to that healing. If you are drawn to use these skills, please do. But never feel an obligation, for we all have a unique role to play and this, the healing of humanity’s past suffering, may not be what calls you. Even if you are drawn to continue using these skills, recognise that human history is long and it may take a while to heal our collective past. You do not have to do it all! As Sananda says in his introduction, your joy is a measure of your effectiveness.

Studying the course

Before listening to these inner journeys, choose a time when you can be relaxed and undisturbed.  Notice your posture; sit with your spine comfortably erect.  If you prefer, you can listen lying down, again with your spine comfortably straight.  As you listen you will be receiving many transmissions of light and love from Sananda.  After a journey finishes you may like to spend a few minutes absorbing your experiences as you come back fully to the outer world.  Listening to these inner journeys several times is likely to enhance their effect.  Trust your intuition in choosing when and how often you listen to each one.

This course brings you together with many others on the inner planes to share in bringing healing to humanity’s past. This makes it particularly suitable for group work. If you feel drawn to this, you might like to listen to the inner journeys with your own group and share your experiences together.  You’ll find further suggestions in the What’s next? section.

A reminder: Do not listen while driving.

Since these inner journeys may take you into deep states of relaxation, do not listen to them when driving or doing anything, such as operating machinery, that requires you to be alert and focused on the outer world.
