Friendship with Your Guides

Fulfilment is for you not a gift, but a right. It is, however, a right you must claim. Your claim comes in stages. First you must believe in yourself enough to feel that fulfilment can be yours. Then you must find your own understanding of what fulfilment is for you. You are unique, and what fulfils others does not necessarily fulfil you. You can find within yourself many competing voices, each informing you of its own ideas of fulfilment. One voice may say ‘More cake!’, another voice may say ‘More fitness!’, and you are left attempting to satisfy these voices and perhaps wondering how it might be done.

We can help you, not by choosing for you, but by holding open a space in which it is easier for you to know more fully the beauty of fulfilment and to assess the paths by which it flows into your life. Imagine yourself in the sea of consciousness, travelling the paths that you find joyful, making the connections with others that uplift you, feeling, as it were, the warmth of the Spiritual Sun above. Let yourself feel supported by the ocean, so that it feels safe to sense how deep it is. You are not out of your depth, ever. In such an expansive state your internal relationships, the relationships between those different voices that have amalgamated to create your human presence, change. They can relax and recognise that they do not need to clutch at each passing whim. 

Although you experience fulfilment in the context of your time on Earth, it is itself a timeless state. This means that fulfilment is available to you in every moment. The paths by which you access it are many and varied; they may change moment by moment. It is the moment that reveals the path, rather than your desires and wishes. These are not redundant, but their function may be a little different than it seems. It is natural to assume that your desires are what leads you to fulfilment. Your desires are important and useful. They give you a sense of direction, but we suggest that they do not lead you to fulfilment. Rather they indicate general areas of interest so that as you enter each moment you have a clue about where to look. 

Each moment is a revelation, entirely new and unprecedented. Your wishes and desires bring you into a new moment. They give you the momentum to move forward through time. But once within a moment, in a certain sense, time ceases. A moment can be experienced as having an infinite scope, for every moment offers all that is. Having arrived in a new moment, it is the moment itself that reveals to you what fulfilment it offers you. For a moment is no more than you creating yourself afresh. Your fulfilment within the moment brings it to completion. Ultimately your fulfilment becomes so complete that you have no desires left to carry you to a new moment and you move beyond the world of time into an eternal now. 

Moments are not measured by clock or calendar. You enter a new moment as you might enter a room: you can be there for whatever length of time you choose. But your relationship with a moment is so much more intimate than with any room, that you may find it hard to stand back enough to sense your own process of choosing. You are the moment itself, we might say. The moment, then, is you revealing you to yourself. What you reveal, by degrees, taking as long or as many moments as you wish, is your Divine Essence.

Now if you come again to the sea of consciousness, you may sense that fulfilment, the revelation of your Divine Essence to yourself, has been the guiding principle by which you choose paths within the sea. Since you have chosen to live in a world of time, this revelation happens through time; and since you are a unique presence living amongst many unique presences, together you find yourselves fulfilling a Divine Plan, which is that you all help one another to reveal to yourselves the Divine Essence you all share.

At this time the light of grace is flowing strongly into your world. It is our purpose to facilitate that flow wherever you yourselves welcome it. The light of grace makes it easier for you to see deeper into the beauty of each moment or to see more of the beauty of your divine self. What you see, you live. Grace tends to wash away constructs that you bring into each moment unnecessarily. If each moment is like a room, it is a room fully equipped and furnished with all you might need or wish for. To carry furniture in with you is a pointless action. Rather it conceals from you the beauty of the present.

Fulfilment comes when you embrace the moment and the gifts it offers you. This does not mean you must act according to some imagined perfection. Tempting though it is to try and force yourself to be a better person, it is counter-productive. Just as carrying the furniture of your past with you into the present will tend to take you out of the present back into the past, so attempting to be in some future state because you are not good enough in the present will also keep you out of the present moment, this time to your imagined future.

It takes skill and patience to be present. Be kind to yourself. It doesn’t matter if you keep creating new moments throughout your life, so that you may experiment with what the Universe offers you and in this way find out as you go along who this experiencer, you, is. Far from being an error, this is what a human life is: an ongoing experiment, a journey of discovery. In one way the journey always ends in the place it starts; you discover you are one with the Source of All. But in another way, as you know, no journey ever returns to its start. For the starting point is changed by the richness of your experiences as you travelled. You come home and it is a new home, because you are new.

Be gentle with yourself. Give yourself time to let the moment you have created reveal to you its gifts. Find the beauty that is yours, by knowing that you are already beautiful. Your world is changing and you are helping that change. You are learning to find more beauty in the present and as you do so, you become less driven to find it in some future imagining of a perfect world or nostalgic longing for a golden past. 

We are here to help you find fulfilment in this moment. Our friendship and support is with you and we love to help. Understand that you are a joy to help. Come into the space of friendship and let us help you to make the present moment larger. Recognise that you are a unique gift to the Universe and let the Universe reflect its joy in you by presenting you with the gift each moment has for you. You do not have to earn fulfilment, only to permit it to enter.
