Introduction to the course

The background

This series, each with two guided meditations or inner journeys, is designed to help you on your path of spiritual growth. Whether you regard yourself as a beginner or as someone already well along your path, these meditations can take you into beautiful inner spaces and create profound shifts. As you listen Sananda is transmitting frequencies specifically for you at your current stage of growth.

The series introduces many beings and states of consciousness that can assist you on your journey of enlightenment. Even where these are familiar to you, you may find fresh insights and a deeper sense of connection developing for you as you use these inner journeys.

Heaven on Earth also offers further courses that build on this series.

Introduction from Sananda

Imagine the Sun; picture it in your mind’s eye, round, vast and shining.  Picture it too as alive, breathing and aware of you.  Every time you go out into the sunlight you are reconnecting with a friend who reaches with its light to touch the core of your being.

You can match the breath of the sun with your own breath, for when you breathe the Sun breathes too.  It hears, sees and feels every one of your breaths and somewhere within its vastness light and fire shimmer and dance to the rhythm of your breath.

You and the Sun depend upon one another.  You know you could not live without the Sun, but did you know that the Sun cannot live without you!  For every breath you exhale is like a puff of wind from a pair of bellows which stokes its fires.  Even, you might say, without you the Sun would expire.  For it would be incomplete without you.  It would be a different star.  Its light would shine on a different world.

For its part, the Sun wishes you to catch fire, with an inner fire of divine joy, so that you may know its joy in being a doorway through which love may come from the Source of All to nourish you.  You might say that when all beings in the solar system are alight with divine fire, then its work at this level is complete and it moves to a new state of being.

Let yourself become more conscious of your breath.  The world changes shape with your breath, like a sail changing shape in the wind.  Your breath links you to all life; it carries your essence as it is expressed in each moment out into the world and out of each moment a response is shaped, a gift from the All That Is, which you inhale and use to shape your next moment.

In this world everything breathes, even that which may seem wholly still and inanimate.  Consider a stone.  It draws in heat during the day and exhales it each night.  It too is receiving from and giving to the Sun.  It expresses its aliveness, in part, through this capacity to respond to the Sun’s love for it.

Now consider all the different rhythms, patterns and flows of breath the Sun witnesses as it holds Earth in the orbit of its love.  Every single being on Earth, the Earth itself too, is reflected within the Sun in the motion of its fires.  If you knew how, you could travel into its light and read the story of all living things on Earth.  More than that, you could become the experience of each living thing, so vividly does this library of light mirror all life on Earth.

And it is through the breath that this living knowledge is conveyed to the Sun.   Not just the breath of your body, the exhalation and inhalation of your lungs, but through the innumerable inflows and outflows of your being at every level.

But your breath is an example for you, that you are conscious of, that is to some degree under your volitional control, that is key to your living in human form.   As you grow more conscious of your breath you open up to many wonderful insights into your own oneness with all life.  You discover more and more that all life does not simply co-exist, but is wholly interdependent, from the highest to the lowest.

You can learn to feel your connection with all life through each breath, breathing the gift of your being out to the world with each outbreath, and gathering in the response of all that is in the next inbreath.  You can come to experience yourself, through this gradually increasing observation of your breath, as not an isolated being, but as one with all life.

In this, the Sun comes to you as a teacher.  It is its own joy in the oneness of all life that has enabled it to take on a body of fire and with it the responsibility of sustaining the life of millions of physical beings.  You too are becoming a star.  Your growing ability to experience your breath as a bridge which you cross many times a day to meet and share with the Universe the wonders of existence, is one way in which you carry back into yourself the light which will make you as radiant, as luminous and as brilliant as the Sun.

Practise breathing in the light of the Sun with each breath and imagine the gifts it brings you, as if your inner being becomes as vast as the Sun in order to have space enough for these gifts; and then from this storehouse exhale into form all that the Sun gives you.

Introduction from Christopher

We are all familiar with the Sun as a vast and beautiful ball of flaming gas more than 90 million miles away, which we on Earth orbit once a year, and whose light creates day for us.

These inner journeys help you connect with the spiritual being whose physical body is the sun we see in the sky.  They are designed to create a space in which you can come to know yourself more fully as a being of light in human form and to understand more deeply what the light of the Sun means to the light of your essence.

Background information

What are the energy centres mentioned in the meditations?

These energy centres (sometimes also called chakras, after the Sanskrit word for wheel) are non-physical, but exert an influence on all of your bodies, physical, emotional and mental, as well as spiritual.  They could be thought of as one of the principal organising forces within our bodies.  Traditionally there are said to be seven main centres, each with its own group of functions. You will experience each centre in your own way, but one common way people may sense the centres is as discs or balls of light.  Another traditional visualisation is of flowers with different numbers of petals for each centre.  In these meditations your attention is drawn to the following centres:

Crown – at the top of the head; sometimes called the thousand-petalled lotus

Third eye – between the brows

Throat – in or close to the voice box, in your lower throat

Heart   at the level of the heart and in the centre of the chest

Solar Plexus –  a little above the level of the navel and in front of the spine

Sacral – in the lower abdomen

Base – at the base of the spine

In addition the core of light is mentioned.  This can be thought of as a column of light – it can be very slender or quite wide – running vertically through the centre of your body and linking all the main energy centres.

What is meant by the Solar Logos?

You might think of the Solar Logos as being the same as the Sun’s soul – the timeless consciousness whose physical body is the Sun we see in the sky.  More precisely the Solar Logos could be described as the directing intelligence or organising principle of the Sun.  As you connect with it in meditation you may have a sense of it taking human form to facilitate communication between you.

Notes

A reminder: Do not listen while driving.
Since these meditations may take you into deep states of relaxation, do not listen to them when driving or doing anything, such as operating machinery, that requires you to be alert and focused on the outer world.

The inner journeys

Before listening, choose a time when you can be relaxed and undisturbed for about half an hour.  Notice your posture; sit with your spine comfortably erect.  If you prefer, you can listen lying down, again with your spine comfortably straight.  As you listen you will be receiving many transmissions of light and love from Sananda.  After a journey finishes you may like to spend a few minutes absorbing your experiences as you come back fully to the outer world.  Listening to these inner journeys several times is likely to enhance their effect.  Trust your intuition in choosing when and how often you listen to each one.  You’ll find further suggestions in the What’s next? section.

What’s next?

After you’ve listened to these meditations once or more, you may like to connect with the soul of the Sun in your own meditations without the recordings.  You may also like to follow the suggestions that Sananda makes in his introduction, becoming by degrees more and more conscious of your living and constant relationship with the Sun.

It can be a wonderful experience to greet the rising sun in the morning, drawing in its light through your third eye and renewing your connection for the day ahead.  (If you choose to do this, of course be careful not to look directly into the sun with your physical eyes.)

If your are drawn to work more with the Sun, you may like to explore these courses:
