Heaven on Earth

teachings from the realms of light for a life of joy

I’m fond of the analogy that likens us to pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Imagine us as isolated pieces each proud of our unique shape, the collection of bays and capes that define us. And maybe really not taking much notice at all of the strange streaks and patches of colour on top that seem to mean nothing.

Then what happens? We get lifted up and turned about and put back down, and everything is changed. Those proud defining edges turn out to be what brings us together and they vanish more or less, while the random blobs we made nothing of turn out to be what it was all about after all.

What I like is the hint that maybe we don’t really change, we just change our focus. What was important turns out to be important for an entirely different reason and what we chose to ignore becomes a revelation and an awakening.
