The New Light
Part 2: Assimilating the New Light - by Sananda
In this series of articles Sananda writes about the qualities of light coming to Earth now and how we may use them for our enlightenment and for the planet. These articles are being published in Paradigm Shift magazine beginning in the May 2009 issue. For a free meditation with Sananda Welcome to the New Light go here.
In my last article I wrote about the new light coming into your world and about the Community of Love, one of the ways in which you can assimilate this new light into your lives. Now I would like to tell you more about the qualities of this new light and to offer more suggestions for its use. In particular I am going to focus upon how this light can help you to manifest your own highest future.
The light that is entering your world now brings gifts that have not been here before. Gathered up into the light are complete blueprints for the next phase of human existence. Each one of you can find in this light your own personal portion of the Divine Plan.
The Divine Plan was present in the light before, but it was in particles that were somewhat scattered by the density of the Earth plane. It required a greater magnetic force within each individual to attract those particles together into a coherence that you could then start to manifest in physical reality. It took rare individuals, often receiving much focused help from the higher realms, to gather up sufficient of those particles to form a coherent portion of the Divine Plan that they could then manifest completely. These were the men and women you remember as spiritual masters, creative geniuses, great leaders. Others, receiving a less coherent sense of the Divine Plan, would turn to them for inspiration and guidance.
Your societies consequently tended to take on a hierarchical form. The new light is beginning to change all this. Over the course of several generations (for this process is not instantaneous) more and more of you will find you have the ability to tune into the gifts the new light brings and to read there your own portion of the Divine Plan. With this transformation comes a greater appreciation of the unique contribution each one of you makes, and your societies begin to change shape. I will write more about this in a subsequent article.
How might you recognise this new light in your life?
Although I write of a new light flowing into your reality and of Earth moving into a new space where this light becomes available, it is equally true to think of this light as arising within you. For this new light that is entering your reality resonates with the light of your being and brings forth a fresh aspect of that inner light in response.
Begin, then, with yourself. One of the key ways in which the inner and the outer meet in your being is through your breath. Each breath you take brings to you news from the Universe and takes news of you to the Universe. One way in which you can become more conscious of this new light is by choosing to breathe in the light of the Sun consciously. For it is the Sun who is your primary introduction to this light, bringing it from Source and distilling it into the forms that are meaningful to you. As you become more conscious of your relationship with the living light of the Sun so you naturally awaken to more of this new light as it exists within you and the gifts that it carries. There are many ways in which you can breathe in this light. Here are two suggestions; you can use either or both, depending on what appeals to you.
As you breathe in air imagine light from the soul of the Sun flowing in through your third eye, up around the inside of your skull and down into your spinal cord. Imagine it awakening a new aliveness within you and, as you breathe out, that aliveness flowing outwards from your spinal cord into every cell of your body.
The second method relates to the Community of Love of which I have already written. As you breathe in feel yourself drawing air into your lungs, and your lungs, as they fill with air, gently massaging your heart. At the same time imagine yourself receiving light and love from the soul of the Sun into your heart centre, and your heart centre filling, opening and expanding as you do so. Then, as you breathe out feel love and light radiating out to connect with many open hearts all around the world – the Community of Love.
These are not the only ways in which you may come to know this new light, but in this article we are focusing upon your ability to know this light through your breath. The new light as it exists within you is like a seed, and your breathing in of the solar light is like bringing sunlight to that seed – it helps it germinate. The first moment of germination, when the outer case of the seed breaks out and the seedling within peeps through, may be experienced as a moment of stillness or a sense of coming into balance. You might experience it as a sense of wonder or awe. Such moments may happen over and over again. They can be big or small, and the small moments of wonder are just as significant as the great.
When a seed first breaks open you may have no idea of what flower or fruit it will ultimately bear, so with these moments of revelation let yourself be in a state of not knowing, of wondering at what is awakening within you. The time of not knowing may sometimes be so brief as to be almost instantaneous or it may last many months, but this time of wonder, of not knowing, is the birth of something new, a fresh beginning, an opportunity for new choices beyond what you have previously known.
How may you know your part in the Divine Plan?
Your personality self may have lots of ideas about your part in the unfolding Divine Plan for humanity, or it may have no ideas at all. Either way you discover your part through observation. Just as a botanist will observe a new seedling as it grows so that she may discover what plant it is, so you observe this new light and allow it to reveal itself. But how, you might ask, do you observe a spiritual light that your physical eye may not see at all? Again I will suggest two ways. Remember that these are just two amongst many.
Sometimes, as you breathe in light from the soul of the Sun, allow your mind to go into a soft focus, such as you might use when you are daydreaming, or remembering a happy time. Imagine yourself travelling towards the Sun – not the blazing ball of gas you see in the sky, but the vast and loving consciousness which expresses that love by supporting all life on Earth. Imagine yourself coming into a very great and sacred space somewhere within the aura of the Sun. Here the presence of this being is all-pervasive; every aspect of the light of which this temple is made is saturated with love from the Source of All held in a steady focus by the soul of the Sun. Let yourself absorb this light and love to just the degree that feels most comfortable to you. When you are ready let yourself return to the outer world, still with your mind in a soft focus. This soft focus keeps your mind from prematurely latching onto ideas and fixing them before they have had time to mature. Then, when you are ready, move again to being focused and alert in the outer world. As you make these visits to this Solar Temple, you are allowing yourself to process the new light through your own being until it can manifest as conscious choices, decisions and actions. Give time for this to happen. The process has its own timing, which is not under the control of your personality self.
Here is a second approach. Open your heart to the new light. It is conscious and responds to you. You need only ask. Invite it into your heart as you would invite the love of a friend. Let it take up residence and get to know it as you would a friend. Enter into a communion without words, as you might with someone you love. Let go of a need to understand it; rather accept it as you would a friend. In this way, starting with your heart centre, you are becoming a temple dedicated to this new light. When it is appropriate the light will speak to you, in the sense of guiding your choices, decisions and actions. It is as if you find yourself more and more becoming the light itself, and your human self becomes the light in action, the light made manifest.
Be patient with yourself in all this. It takes time and practice to truly know yourself as the light which is your essence. At this time humanity is going through a process of profound and rapid transformation, but it still takes time. If sometimes you feel slow or inadequate, forgive yourself. Play with changing your perspective. Think of the patience of a spider rebuilding its web day after day, or an ant moving over huge obstacles; or change your timescale, and see yourself through the eyes of the Sun, which is already billions of years old, and realise that your progress is happening with great rapidity, in the briefest blink of its eye. Balance patience and persistence with generosity to yourself.
How may you understand and use this light?
Becoming conscious of all that this new light has to offer is an ongoing process. When you look at a great work of art or listen to wonderful piece of music you may find yourself returning to it over and over again, discovering something new each time. Your understanding of it may develop and change over years, and may never be capable of expression in words alone. Understanding the gifts this light has for you is of a similar kind of process, open-ended rather than analytical, asking for all of your consciousness rather than just your mind.
For what the light brings is the raw stuff of consciousness; in many ways it can be seen as consciousness itself. Your understanding of it is also your journey of becoming more conscious. Whatever brings you greater consciousness, also brings you the gifts of this light. Every moment of your life brings the opportunity for increased consciousness. One of the surest ways of developing consciousness is in each moment to be in that moment, rather than in a past moment or a future moment, worrying about some past event or some future maybe. Learn to be present, so that you may receive the gifts of the moment. Here too, be patient with yourself. Use the skills you have acquired, and acquire more, to heal the pain of the past which drags you back or the fear of the future that may pull you forward out of that moment. Each moment is sacred; each moment is beautiful beyond measure; each moment is unique. Learn to know that you are in the presence of the Divine in every moment and that the nature of the communion you have with the Divine is unique in every moment.
Your consciousness, the consciousness that you are, is not a measured portion, a dollop ladled out to you. This light comes to help you increase your consciousness. As you increase your consciousness you are not simply getting a bigger dollop. Increased consciousness changes your understanding of yourself and of the Universe. You might say that consciousness changes its nature as it grows. As you absorb this light your understanding does not simply increase, it changes its nature. In this way the light reveals to you the gifts that your previous understanding could only perceive faintly or not at all.
One of the most effective ways of receiving more of the gifts the light holds for you is to use those you already have. It’s as if the Universe recognises your appreciation of a gift already received, and so wants to give you more. The gifts that you already have are many and perhaps more various than you realise. I am not only meaning gifts like the ability to play music or cook a good meal, but gifts like the ability to appreciate the beauty of a flower or the ability to love a friend. As you come to the end of this article I suggest you pause and ask yourself if you have any gifts that you’ve not been using for a while. Choose a gift you’d love to use right now, and then use it in however small a way. With such simple steps as these you manifest your own highest future.
